Youth Symphony Side-By-Side Concert with the Omaha Symphony!
Sunday, May 8th – 7:00pm – Holland Performing Arts Center
We cordially invite you to attend our Youth Symphony Side-by-Side Concert with the Omaha Symphony.
Led by OAYO Music Director, Aviva Segall, Youth Symphony repertoire will include Paganini’s Allegro Maestoso from Violin Concerto No. 1 in D performed by Youth Symphony violin soloist, Arjun Maudhoo. The OAYO 13th Street Quartet featuring members Isabella Amador, Annmarie Schubert, Avery Thomas, and Trevor Petersen will also perform.
As a combined orchestra Youth Symphony and the Omaha Symphony led by Omaha Symphony Music Director, Thomas Wilkins, will perform Offenbach’s Overture to Orpheus in the Underworld, Delius’s Walk to the Paradise Garden, Sibelius’s Karelia Suite and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Procession of the Nobles from Mlada.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors (65 and older), children under 6 and music educators are free. Tickets can be purchased through Ticket Omaha or at the door before the performance.View Events
OMAHA GIVES! - MAY 25th
Omaha Gives! is a one-day online fundraising event organized by the Omaha Community Foundation and held on May 25 to raise support for nonprofits in Douglas, Sarpy, and Pottawattamie Counties. It is a community-wide event to show off the area’s spirit of giving, raise awareness about local nonprofits, and celebrate the collective effort it takes to make this city great.
HOW YOUR DONATIONS HELP:
32% of OAYO musicians received scholarships — 1 in 3 musicians.
$4,410 provided scholarships to18 musicians for 260 lessons.
$26,000 in scholarships were rewarded to pay the tuition for 61 families and 64 musicians.
In response to emergency situations and requests, OAYO provided nearly $5000 in financial aid and generated volunteer hours from families in financial distress impacting 23 families.
